Monday Double...
Bath 15:00 - Spring Dream
1m 5f, Class 5 Fillies' Handicap - Good to Firm
Another Alan King runner on the flat, and come 15:05 I expect it will be another good priced winner. 2ND behind Rose Row last time out Spring Dream is 4lb better off for a 1 & 1/2l defeat at the same course 20 days ago. However today's step up in trip as well as the shift in the weights will make this tough mare very hard to beat, and I take her to get revenge in what looks like a two runner race. (Early Price 11/8)
1ST 6/4F
Patiently ridden by Richard Hughes, the experienced Irish Jockey over came traffic problems to get his mount up by a cosy 1/2l. Always travelling well, Spring Dream looked the likely winner as the gap came just in time for him to quicken and take the spoils. Today's victory meant back to back victories in the same race for this tough stayer.
Windsor 19:40 - Killcara Boy
1m 3f, Class 4 Handicap - Good to Firm
The only distance winner in the field, The Henry Candy trained Killcara Boy looks a to be a tough nut to crack in this evenings Class 4 staying event. An impressive winner last time out when he had to battle to see off the gutsy Special Reserve, those two pulled 5l's clear of the 3rd. With question marks about the trip and the ground for most of the others I expect this improving 3 year old to take all the beating tonight. (Early Price 7/2)
4TH 4/1
Leading for the majority of the way, Killcara Boy looked at one stage to have run the finish out of his opponents however as he began to tire he was bumped and carried right by the eventual winner, Inventor. Probably just beaten at the time, there was no bell from the stewards room and Brian Meehans colt kept the race.
