Thursday Double...
Thurles 14:45 - Knight Legend
2m 4f, Grade 2 Chase - Soft
With English national hunt racing taking a pounding from the weather, The Analyst escapes over the seas to Ireland, and Thurles for a Grade 2 chase. A small but high quality field has been assembled with seasoned campaigners again locking horns for valuable prize money. The Analyst is sweet on the chances of Knight Legend, and rates the form behind Mossbank (subsequently 4l 2nd to Denman in The Lexus Chase) as very solid. Knight Legend is taken to handle the softer going and see off Charlie Swan's One Cool Cookie.
3rd 7/4f
They backed it like a winner, it traveled like a winner, it jumped like a winner! The only thing it didn't do, was win like a winner. Experience prevailed as Hi Cloy, put a poor run in the King George behind him and produced a polished performance to take the prize.
Thurles 16:15 - The Man From Slatt
3m, Hunter Chase - Soft
We stay in Ireland to hopefully complete the double. The Man From Slatt is chosen to complete a quick fire double of his own under rules in the Hunter Chase finale. A bloodless victory last time at Down Patrick makes him a worthy favourite, with the step up in trip likely to bring out even more improvement.
2nd 10/3
The Man from Slatt ran a gallant race in defeat. Applying his usual front running tactic's, he jumped the last in ahead of the rest of the field, however the stamina sapping 3m took it's toll and he was beaten 16l. Connections may think about a drop back in trip however this is a Hunter Chase to keep an eye on.
