Friday Double...
Lingfield 15:40 - Ceremonial Jade
7f, Class 2 Handicap - Standard
Trainer, Marco Botti has burst onto the British flat racing scene and with 14 winners already this campaign he looks well set to continue making a name for himself at Lingfield today. He saddles the highly consistent Ceremonial Jade, who looks ideally weighted to get off the mark this season. I am happy to take on the Richard Hannon trained Edge Closer, as he steps up to 7 furlongs for the first time and John Gosden's, Transcend who may just give our selection most to do, however up in the weights and in class he is worth watching for the time being. (Early price 9/2)
WON 11/4F
A classy performance and a classy ride meant that our selection got home in-front and scored by an impressive 2 1/4l's. Seb Sanders quite often doesn't get the credit he deserves, labeled a "workman-like" rider, he showed Patience and a touch of class aboard Ceremonial Jade, to bring her from last to first and blitzed this talented field. Backed in from 9/2 into 11/4 this was a tip not to be missed.
Lingfield 16:10 - Mr Aviator
1m 2f, Class 2 Handicap - Standard
This should be a penalty kick Mr Aviator sent out for the in-form combination of Hannon and Hughes. A decent C&D winner last time out, over the tough Luberon he is taken to give away 8lb's to the Mark Johnson trained, Pinch of Salt and at a shades of odds against, this is too good an opportunity to miss. (Early Price 5/4)
2ND 11/10F
Staying on well in the final furlong Mr Aviator unfortunately just left his charge a little too late and was never going to get on terms with the eventual winner, Watamu. 2nd over 1m 3f, a couple of starts ago, could mean we see another step up in trip for this talented bay colt, before he gets his head in-front again.
