Monday Double...
Fakenham 13:50 - Sainte Kadette
2m, Class 4 Novice Hurdle - Good to Soft.
Sainte Kadette was well beaten 8th behind the Triumph Hurdle favourite Francheok at Cheltenham on his last appearance; however that was a hot race and big step in class for the previous grade 3 winner. A return to Class 4 and tight track will suit this game front runner who is taken to run the finish out of his opponents.
2nd 5/6
Having got worked up in the prelims and in-fact breaking the tape to bring about a false start, Sainte Kadette, failed to settle in the race proper either. With catch me if you can tactics, Tom Sudamores mount set off like a scalded cat. In a fairly weak race the field was strung out like washing but one that was never far adrift was Nicky Hendersons exciting newcomer, Working Title. He stalked the leader, traveling and jumping better throughout the contest before eventually going onto win by a run away 25l. The Analyst will be adding him to his note book for the future.
Fakenham 14:20 - Gods Token
2m 5f, Class 3 Novice Chase - Good to Soft.
Gods Token, will look to go one better than last time out and translate his high class hurdle form of 2007 to fences for the in-form Venetia Williams. The Grey gelding will be giving age and weight to the progressive Helen Wood, however the selection is taken to get the trip in what will no doubt be testing ground at the Norfolk Track.
WON 3/1
I don't like to say I told you so, but I told you so! Having turned into a 2 horse race from some way out, The galant grey's experience told as he got every yard of the 2m 5f trip. Sam Thomas's mount wore down Helen Wood as his rival emptied jumping the second last. Venetia Williams charge ran on to win by 3/4 of a length. There is a God!!
