Thursday Double...
Carlisle 14:40 - Astarador
2m, Class 3 Novices' Chase - Soft
A winner just under 2 weeks ago over C&D and under similar ground conditions, Astarador is tipped to go in again. A smooth performance from pillar to post showed that the bay gelding has taken well to the larger obstacles and although carrying a penalty this afternoon it should not be enough to stop him. He kept good company in bumpers and over hurdles and with race fitness on his side and the stable on fire at present should account for a couple of interesting newcomers to the chasing game.

Carlisle 15:45 - Super Road Train
3m, Class 3 Handicap Chase - Soft
Previously tipped up by The Analyst the selection put up a gallant performance again over C&D last time out. Fancied last time to stay on better than his other rivals, Sue Smith's runner got going all too late and couldn't close the gap. With a run under his belt, conditions look ideal for Super Road Train to steam into the winner's enclosure today.

Friday Double...
Carlisle 14:30 - Golden Child
2m 4f, Class 4 Beginners' Chase - Good to Soft, Soft in Places
Tom Molloy takes off a handy 5lb's for the In-form trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies as they team up with the Golden Child in today's beginners' chase. Un-lucky last time out when just seeming to tire over 3 miles at Perth, today's drop in trip and class look sure to suit and this 6 year old gelding can get off the mark over the larger obstacles today. (Early Price 9/2)

Carlisle 16:40 - Super Road Train
3m, Class 4 Handicap Chase - Good to Soft, Soft in Places
Sue Smith saddles course specialist Super Road Train this afternoon who is two from two at the Cumberland track. Talented Tjade Collier claims his handy 3lb and gets on well with the gelding having won on him at Wetherby last year. Cadoudalas is an interesting recruit to the chasing game and looks tailormade to succeed over the larger obstacles. However we will side with experience this afternoon and stick Phill Kinsella's mount in the note book as one to follow later on in 2008/2009. (Early Price 10/3)
