Tuesday Double...

Sedgefield 14:30 - Bergonzi
2m 1f, Class 4 Novices' Hurdle - Good to Firm, Good in Places on the Hurdle Course

Howard Johnson saddled a similar type, Indian Groom to win first time out at Market Rasen on Saturday and can follow up today with the exciting Bergonzi. Even better on the flat than the formerly mentioned gelding, Bergonzi was successful in a Class 4 staying event for John Gosden as-well as being placed in competitive events (Class 3) at both Sandown and Chester. This 4 year old will have done plenty of schooling at home and is taken to get the better of the frustrating Royal Rationale (1st) and the exposed Yachvili (2nd). (Early Price 5/1)
UP

Sedgefield 16:00 - Wise Owl
2m 4f, Class 4 Beginners' Chase - Good to Firm, Good in Places on the Hurdle Course

Pipe and Scudamore combine on what looks to be an outstanding chance in today's 16:00 at Sedgefield. 4th last time out in what was his first time over the larger obstacles, Wise Owl would only have to reproduce that level of performance to be very hard to beat this afternoon. Only beaten 4 lengths the 1st and 3rd in that race have gone on to frank the form and 5/2 looks a massive price for this progressive looking type. (Early Price 5/2)

Friday Double...

Punchestown 16:20 - Punjabi
2m, Class Accbank Champion Hurdle - Yielding

Nicky Henderson's Punjabi has run big races in each of his three starts this year and non-more so than in the "Champion" Hurdle at Cheltenham when he finished a close up third to Katchit. He deserves to win a race this campaign and this looks the ideal opportunity. Sublimity heads the betting but after two lack luster races this year it means there are question marks over his fitness and ability to finish of races in which he has travelled so well. The Rain has come against Harchibald and I expect Barry Geraghty to get a tune out of our selection and out battle his rivals.

WON 2/1

The race went exactly as the script above, with our selection Punjabi out-battling the slightly frustrating Sublimity. The tough gelding was slightly awkward at the last but still ran on to win by a comfortable 3l's.

Chepstow 19:55 - Royal Rationale
2m, Class 5 Maiden Hurdle - Good, Good to Soft in Places

With Summer jumping back, it means we have a long weight to hopefully land today's double. However with David Pipe and Tom Scudamore sticking around at the Welsh course until the last race of the night, that is encouragement enough for me and a repeat of Royal Rationale's last run at Newbury will be easily good enough to land this.
WON EVENS

A comfortable win on the bridal for David Pipes Royal Rationale meant that it was worth the wait to land the double. The addition of blinkers seemed to have worked a treat and this gelding looks well handicapped to follow up in similar event soon.

DOUBLE WON 5/1
