Monday Double...

Yarmouth 15:30 - Missioner
1m, Class 3 Maiden Stakes - Good to Firm

Mark Johnston's inmate ran in two decent maidens last year and gave the impression that he would be better over a further distance in time. He showed good battling qualities in each of his races as invariably the trainer's runners do. Now taking a huge step down in class The Analyst expects this bay colt to open his account in style at Yarmouth today. (Early Price 7/4)

2ND 7/4F

Leading the field and looking strong, Missioner ran one paced when others seemed to quicken and was headed just over 1f out. Rallying again close home he eventually finishes a close up 2nd in another promising, but slightly frustrating effort.

Windsor 18:55 - Metropolitan Man
1m, Class 1 Extrabet Stakes - Good to Firm

Well what can you say about this consistent son of Dr Fong. Always knocking on the door but never quite getting his head in front where it matters. This has partly been down to not much luck in running as was advertised last time out at Sandown where he ran really well behind Major Cadaux and Rob Roy. That is easily good enough form to win this event and hopefully reward his connections. (Early Price 9/4)
3RD 15/8F

Well Backed before the off, Metropolitan Man never lived up to the pre-race confidence and finished a tame 3rd behind the tough Ordnance Row. 5th in higher quality race behind Cesare at Ascot last time, Richard Hannons Gelding stayed on strongly to win by a cosy 1/2l.
