Wednesday Double...

Nottingham 15:10 - Sonny Red
5f, Class 3 Conditions Stakes - Soft, Good to Soft In Places

A good pipe opener at the Lincoln meeting should have put this bay colt spot on for today's contest. The winner, Aahayson is a very good yardstick with strong form in the past with the likes of Al Qasi and Sakhee's Secret. The main danger to the selection today could be Reverence, a top quality animal in his own right but the past tells us that he normally needs the run.

WON 4/5F

Richard Hannon's Sonny Red, stayed on strongly to land the odds in the class 3 conditions stakes at Nottingham. After making stylish headway 1f out the brave colt stayed on strongly under a typically strong Richard Hughes ride. The Analyst bagged an early 6/5, which looked massive when he returned a skinny 4/5F.

Catterick 15:20 - Puy d'Arnac
1m 5f, Class 4 Handicap - Good to Soft, Soft in Places

A close second last time out to the improving Red Wine makes the second selection and leg of the double very interesting, especially as the latter as gone in again since. Having been sent hurdling and with a win and fall to his name the french bred gelding is back on the level now. With a very low weight and the services on Robert Winston in the saddle expect a big run.
WON 5/2F

A silky, smooth performance from the Swinbank trained Puy d'Arnac landed the double today at a very healthy 5/2f. Pushed out in the final furlong, our selection ran on an easy winner by a cosy 2 1/4 lengths.

DOUBLE WON 6/1
