Monday Double...

Windsor 16:00 - Ocean Blaze
5f, Class 4 Handicap - Good, Good to Soft in Places

Rod Millman saddles the consistent Ocean Blaze in a competitive 5f dash at Windsor today. Coming into her own at the end of last season, the trainer expects another good year from his tough 4 year old filly, who will continue to ply her trade in such handicaps. A repeat of his decent 2nd over C&D last June will see her very hard to beat today and she is taken to get the better of the hatrick seeking After The Show, who may just find this drop back to the minimum trip on the sharp side.
UP 7/1

Newcastle 16:40 - Honour's Dream
2m, Class 4 Handicap Hurdle - Heavy, Soft in Places

Top weight in a handicap means you are quite simply the best horse in the race. However this is a stat that is often overlooked in the attempt to find the winner. Sometimes it's easier to look at the quality of the race and how much winning it will actually take? The answer for the 16:40 is "not much". Tom George sends out Honour's Dream under the "textbook" Paddy Brennan. A return to 2m in testing ground looks ideal, and I expect our selection to lead from pillar to post and not even see another animal.
