Saturday Double...

Newbury 14:05 - Count Kristo
2m 2f, Class 3 Novices' Handicap Hurdle - Good to Soft, Good in Places

Brendan Powell saddles the highly consistent Count Kristo at Newbury today in an attempt to go one better than last time out when he was a close up 2nd to the talented Major Euro over course and distance. Dominic Elsworth gets the leg up on the tough 6 year old, who is taken to get the better of David Pipes, Cadoulitique.

2nd 11/8f

Another gutsy performance from Count Kristo who looked as though he could be the one to end Brendan Powells 38 race losing streak. However it was the "huge" Island Flyer for the inform Tom George that stayed on nicely on his chase debut to win by 8l.

Doncaster 14:25 - Lothian Falcon
3m, Class 2 Handicap Hurlde - Good

Robert Walford gets on tremendously well with this consistent gelding who looks well treated to return from a 66 day break and continue his winning ways. A seperate course and distance winner, Lothian Falcon looks to combine a C&D today and land this class 2 event.
4th 15/8f

They went an absolute crawl in this 3 mile hurdle which didn't suit our selection at all. It turned into a sprint turning for home and Lothian Spirit was just caught out, staying on a one paced 4th.
